Placeholder Placeholder Placeholder Placeholder Placeholder Placeholder According to all known laws of aviation, there is no way a bee should be able to fly. Its wings are too small to get its fat little body off the ground. The bee, of course, flies anyway because bees don't care what humans think is impossible. Yellow, black. Yellow, black. Yellow, black. Yellow, black. Ooh, black and yellow! Let's shake it up a little. Barry! Breakfast is ready! Coming! Hang on a second. Hello? Barry? Adam? Can you believe this is happening? I can't. I'll pick you up. Looking sharp. Use the stairs, Your father paid good money for those. Sorry. I'm excited. Here's the graduate. We're very proud of you, son. A perfect report card, all B's. Very proud. Ma! I got a thing going here. You got lint on your fuzz. Ow! That's me! Wave to us! We'll be in row 118,000. Bye! Barry, I told you, stop flying in the house! Hey, Adam. Hey, Barry. Is that fuzz gel? A little. Special day, graduation. Never thought I'd make it. Three days grade school, three days high school. Those were awkward. Three days college. I'm glad I took a day and hitchhiked around The Hive. You did come back different. Hi, Barry. Artie, growing a mustache? Looks good. Hear about Frankie?

Come to the meetup to meet other Witches and Pagans in your area, find local Priestesses and Priests and Covens, and discuss a wide variety of subjects with intelligent people over coffee or dinner, normally on the third Tuesday each month. For details on the next meeting, join us at http://www.meetup.com/wiccan-39/

This group DOES reserve the right to deny membership to individuals, but it is very rare, and is only done when there are serious grounds for doing so. This group is for local Witches and Pagans and other Pagan-friendly people interested in gaining information about Wicca and Paganism in general. Members in Warner Robins and surrounding areas DO have monthly real life get-togethers and also have group celebrations and rituals at private locations. No Witch-Wars! This group DOES co-operate with and support other Pagan groups. Bickering, in-fighting, intolerance, and just plain rudeness may result in your being turned over to the Ministry of Magic for proper punishment and banishment to Azkaban!

Southern Appalachian Witchcraft The story is still told here in the Appalachian mountains of a young man who abducted his sweetheart because her family opposed their marriage. He carried her away with him deep into the mountains and built a cabin for his bride at the edge of a dense forest. One day several years later, when her husband was out hunting, she decided to go berry picking. She wandered farther and farther into the woods in search of berries and finally, as she crossed a stream, saw a cabin a short distance away.To her surprise she recognized the home of her parents! For five years she had been living only three miles from her family, unknown to them and to her. Even today distances seem longer than they actually are on the winding mountain roads of Appalachia. For many years the lack of roads and the natural difficulties of travel through mountain areas resulted in isolation for those who lived there. Thus generation after generation of children grew up, married, and raised their own families, never leaving the immediate area of their birth.

When one listens to the voices of the old mountain people, one can still occasionally hear traces of a Elizabethan accent like the faint echos from their pioneer past. Today, when one hears the term Appalachia, many think of the stereotypical hillbillies, living in squaler and poverty. But it means much more, for this was the first frontier of our country. A wilderness filled with beauty, it was also a place of danger and hardships. If the settlers survived Indian raids, there was still the threat of malaria and smallpox. The challenge to survive was great, and those who accepted it were a new breed, unafraid and ready to risk all.

Many of them came from England, Scotland, Ireland, Wales, Germany or France. A majority of them were Protestants, strongly imbued with the individual traits of their faith and a desire for religious freedom. Some of them were of "the old ways", The older pagan traditions. And here for much the same reasons. Not always literate, they might be best described as a courageous, sometimes ornery people determined to live life in their own way. Somehow they did, and somehow they managed to survive. These people lived off the land, literally, eating Indian corn, berries, and wild game. Their possessions where few, limited many times to a ax, a knife, a rifle, and a loom. While these hardened people had few things, they never considered themselves poor. For they owned land, and this had not always been possible in Europe.

It was their land that gave them a feeling of worth, a sense of pride and of being men among men. A basic need was fulfilled, and to this day natives of these hills do not consider themselves poor as long as they can call a few acres of land their own. It is this love for the land that kept many of the "old ways" alive, generation after generation. And the responsibility of stewardship of the land is still even in todays "modern" world a mantle that a few, so very few now, still know and wear.

It is over three hundred and fifty years since pioneers first settled the recesses of the Appalachian Mountains, and thousands of the descendants of these frontiermen are still here. Some of you here looking at this may be infact of those bloodlines. But those who still know and carry the pagan traditions of what WE know as the "Old Ways", now number less than 50, most of whom are over the age of 65. The youngest of us who carry on the traditions are in our early to mid 40's. There are no young people left. The young ones who could or would have learned have become too "modernized", and many have moved away, or walked away from their heritage. Many of them are simply not interested in "that weird old farmer folks religion stuff".

The Mountain People of the Old Faith ( we refer to ourselves as "the Others") are very small groups of families now. We have gathered ourselves together from across Southern Appalachia to organize whats left of our hidden traditions and bring them to light to certain properly prepared and qualified individuals. (We are very selective in who we will share this with, and a background check WILL be conducted.) The geographical area that this "Way" has survived is now limited to North Georgia, Eastern Tennessee, and Western North Carolina. The time has come to become "public" in a sense.....and to teach those of the blood who would seek and honor and keep alive the "Old Ways". In our ranks we have suffered 12 deaths in the last 3 years due to sickness and old age. With in the next 10 years, with no new blood, we will possibly be down to under 20. This has been a subject of great discussion amongst the "Others". Some are of the opinion that our time has passed, and it is true that all things have a lifespan. Others of us feel that what remains should be preserved for future generations, because in our ways, Forgetfulness is the path to Oblivion.

If you are interested in helping perserve the Old Ways of this Southern Appalachian Pagan Tradition, and YOU possess the intelligence, integrity, honor and are of the BLOOD of the Scot/Irish/English/Welsh ancestors... Please Contact us at: foxfirecuveen@yahoo.com

For the record, If it is "WICCA" you seek, Or "Traditional (fill in the blank) Witchcraft", You are barking up the wrong tree in this case. We are "Witches" to be sure, but We are NOT of these things, and our ways have PRACTICALLY NO resemblance to those practices. If THOSE traditions ARE what you seek, may we suggest you continue your search at www.witchvox.com

We are an "Eclectic" group because we make room for growth and change. Our flexibility allows our members to utilize any material or pantheon that they may find useful as they walk their path. This eclectic attitude allows an individual's mind to expand and never get bored. We symbolize change, knowledge, growth, and acceptance. We celebrate all Sabbats and Esbats. Our group has structured classes and offer training towards dedication and initiation into our Coven.

The Atlantean Light Tradition A place where all can come, speak, & be heard.

We are the Atlanteans of ancient times and we have risen once again to help mankind on their quest for spirituality. We are here to learn, as well as teach and guide mankind. Our purpose is to help, heal and enlighten all who wish to learn. Our tradition is one of Eclectic ways composed of both old and new beliefs. The never-ending search for and preservation of knowledge and wisdom is our path to enlightenment. Our circle is open to those who possess the honest desire to learn without Drama.

The Atlantean Light tradition is about celebrating the diversity that comes from acceptance of all paths. It is about respecting yourself and others. We embrace the sacred work as children of the Goddess and God. By illuminating truths that were long kept in the darkness, we hope to be a bastion of light and of everlasting compassion and love in the pagan community and beyond.

We believe that our tradition is about being open with who you are without fear of prejudice from others. Worshipping all that is around us like our Gods and Goddesses, Guardians and spirits, and the “Higher Power” aids us on our path. Equality, longevity, tranquility, energy and spirituality are all the way of the Atlantean Light Tradition. Blessed Be!
